The description cortical means that the pilot hole must be pre-tapped prior to screw placement. Cortical Self Tapping means that the screw itself has a self tapping tip and cuts its own thread. Self tappers work very well in all but the hardest cortical bone. It recommended that surgeons using self tappers keep a tap ‘just in case’. Each Kit contains all you need including screws and implants.
